Worked example: a small brand shoot
Illustrative example, not a customer result or recommended market rate: a two-hour brand shoot, 20 edited images and one editing round for CAD 600. Replace these details with your own agreement.
| Part | Example to adapt |
|---|---|
| Client goal | Photographs for the client's website and social channels. |
| Scope | One two-hour shoot at one agreed location; basic colour correction. |
| Deliverables | 20 edited digital images; delivery method and file sizes agreed in writing. |
| Timeline | Shoot on [date]; first delivery by [date]. |
| Investment | CAD 600 before any applicable tax. Payment schedule: [your agreed schedule]. |
| Changes | One agreed editing round. Extra images, travel or reshoots require a revised quote. |
| Usage | Describe who can use the images, where, and for how long. |
| Acceptance | Client confirms scope, dates, price and terms before work starts. |
What to decide before sending
- Name the shoot location, access requirements and weather fallback.
- Specify how the client chooses images and submits one set of editing feedback.
- Define usage and any portfolio permission separately; do not assume either.
- Check cancellation, rescheduling and payment terms for your situation.
